Adventist Singles Network
Focus Groups
Introduction
The term “singles” describes a very diverse group, both in age and interests. With this in mind, the ASN Board is introducing a new initiative in 2009 to provide more opportunities for singles to get together in smaller groups and in various states and territories.
Four new focus groups are being planned: Mission and Community; Music and the Arts, Travel, and Outdoor Recreation.
Mission and Community
This special interest group will focus on projects and programs that specifically reach out to those who have special needs, especially in the areas of health and housing, as well as sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. This may include Fly 'n Build programs; Fly 'n Preach events; working alongside ADRA or the Salvation Army or some other Charity on established or new projects; Drug-Arm; PacificYacht Ministries, or Asian Aid. This group of singles will have a specific 'reach out/something-for-others' focus, and will set out to make a real difference in the lives of those they select for each project.
Music and the Arts
This special interest group will focus on the development of skills and talents in the arts. This may include all areas of music – performance, writing, and theory; photography; computers; graphics; quilting; scrap-booking, and much more.
Travel
This group will focus on all aspects of travel, providing opportunities for singles to enjoy sightseeing and touring around Australia and overseas. Trips may be over several days, or more detailed trips covering several weeks.
Outdoor Recreation
This interest group will focus on the outdoor life and sport. It will cater for those who enjoy recreation and challenges. Specific activities may include canoeing, abseiling, caving, rock-climbing, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, and any other similar activities.
More details will be made available soon. If you would like to express an interest in any or all of these groups, go to Contact Us
